The Team Story
After years of working independently and successfully, three of Atlanta’s most highly-respected realtors have merged their sales and marketing experience to become an exciting and innovative team known as The Intowners. Their primary goal in coming together is to provide clients with an unparalleled level of service, while continuing with the professionalism and integrity for which they each became renowned for in the Atlanta real estate community. Julie Sadlier, Sandy D’Aprile and Peter Bade collectively offer their well-honed negotiating skills, along with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in their market area to buyers and sellers in search of exceptional service. Whether buying or selling, the In Towners are, quite simply, the go-to choice for in-town real estate.
A native of Royal Oak, Michigan, Julie moved to Atlanta after graduating high school to work alongside her father, John Sadlier, a pioneer in re-gentrifying in-town neighborhoods. She earned her real estate license in 1973, just as Atlanta was exploding and becoming noticed nationally. Julie grew up with Atlanta and has continued her father’s legacy of living, working and selling real estate in Atlanta’s older communities. Julie has been married to her Southern-born beau, Judson Powell, for 30 years. They raised their children, Jack and Jamie, in the Morningside area and have been heavily involved with the Morningside schools as well as the Atlanta Youth Soccer League. Julie now also volunteers at the Basilica of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She has been honored by the Atlanta Board of Realtors with the Phoenix and Crystal Phoenix awards and has been named to the RE/MAX Circle of Legends. She currently holds the National CRS (Certified Residential Specialists) designation and has completed the Accredited Buyer-Broker program. With her strong work ethic and professional reliability along with her excellent people skills, Julie has earned the respect of her numerous clients and fellow realtors alike.
Sandy graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a specialty in human services. She worked with handicapped children, juveniles in detention, and adults suffering from addiction. Then, in 1983, she received her real estate license and began work alongside a broker who was also a builder, thus allowing her to learn construction from the ground up, and Atlanta, neighborhood by neighborhood. Having always gravitated to older homes and communities, loving the diverse character of people and places known to theseneighborhoods, Sandy decided to specialize in the intown area. In 1984, she became the areas first RE/MAX agent. Since then, she has received the Atlanta Board of Realtors Phoenix and Crystal Phoenix Awards, the RE/MAX Platinum and Hall of Fame Awards, and the RE/MAX Circle of Legends award. A longtime resident of Virginia-Highland, Sandy was recruited by the area’s civic association to represent them in acquiring land for New Highland Park. She did this pro bono. She also served on the Mayor-appointed Advisory Board for the Atlanta Infill Development Panel, and as volunteer for the Virginia-Highland Neighborhood Preservation Committee. Sandy’s early background in human services has continued to influence her work in real estate, much to the appreciation of her valued clients.
With a Masters in Historic Preservation and a minor in Planning and Land Use from Georgia State University, Peter’s first job out of college was with the Fulton County Zoning Department enforcing the County’s subdivision and zoning ordinances. In 1979, he purchased a 1920’s Craftsman style home in Virginia-Highland near Piedmont Park and Orme Park. He received his real estate license in 1982. Through his work with the Virginia-Highland Civic Association he became involved with the area’s parks and was selected to develop and write the grant for Park Prides Visioning Grant. He is a founding member of FOOP (Friends of Orme Park) and a board member of the Virginia-Highland Conservation League. Recently relocating to Midtown in the stunning 1010 high rise, Peter has continued his civic involvement by helping to guide the Midtown Tour of Homes. His knowledge of the area’s historic homes and neighborhoods along with his love for green space has fed his passion for his work and led his career to success. Over the years Peter has received numerous awards from the Atlanta Board of Realtors and the RE/MAX family.
